Introduction
In today’s modern world, data is not only essential to any business’ daily operations, but its security should be considered top priority. Data is not only at risk from cyber security threats, but can also be compromised by hardware failure, natural disaster, and even load shedding.
While many companies are embracing the cloud for storing and accessing their data, even the most tech-savvy businesses often don’t realise the importance of storing backups of their data as well.
Thankfully, Solid Systems are here to help with cloud backup solutions for all your business’ needs.
What Is Cloud Backup?
A cloud backup is a copy of your data stored in the cloud as a failsafe against data disasters like hardware malfunction, natural disaster, human error and data breaches. Continued load shedding makes cloud backup in United Kingdom particularly necessary.
It ensures that, should the work-case scenario happen, your business will be able to continue its operations with as little downtime, and as little damage to your company’s reputation, as possible.
Investing in a cloud backup solution from Solid Systems allows you to:
Whether you need a single workstation’s data to be secure, or an entire server, you can back up in the cloud and rest assured that your information is there when you need it most.
Solid Systems’ True Delta Deep Deduplication means that your data is backed up quickly and stored efficiently, saving you time and ensuring that your stored data is kept up to date.
With the option of hybrid storage, you’ll not only have backups in the cloud, but can store it on-premises as well, allowing your data to be restored in a matter of minutes, rather than hours.
Our pay-per-device model means that you can choose the storage space and solution that best suits your business, and update your cloud backup service as your needs change.
Our management portal makes keeping track of and restoring a backup from cloud quick and simple, whether it’s a single file or an entire server.
You don’t need all the gold in Fort Knox to keep your data backed-up and secure.
What Are The Main Feature Of Solid Systems' Cloud Backup?
There are countless reasons to invest in a cloud backup solution, but these are just a few of the features that companies love about Solid Systems’ cloud backup service in particular:
Store your data in the way that suits your business best. Choose to use a Cloud Storage Node, manage storage nodes in your own data centre, or set up an on-premises cache, allowing lightning fast restoration.
Our unique True Delta Technology makes sure that you’ll never store duplicate files. It also backs up updates to files, rather than uploading the full file again, allowing for faster backups, and quicker restores.
Whether you need to recover a single file or restore an entire server, Solid Disaster Recovery is simple to use. Restore data to another server, or to an Azure or Amazon EC2 environment with Virtual Disaster Recovery.
Rest assured that your data is being stored securely in local or international data centres with around-the-clock security and end-to-end encryption. Our world-class storage solutions are also POPI and GDPR compliant.
Store your data in the most affordable way with monthly or annual snapshots that do not count towards your storage quota. Only pay for the data that you need to have restored, rather than for information stored in the cloud.

Frequently asked questions
While Azure Backup and Disaster Recovery are services that we offer, they are not the only Cloud Backup service available. Our Cloud Backup solutions provide backup and recovery as a consolidated service rather than as two separate offerings, and make use of our unique True Delta technology.
Many companies think that Cloud Storage and Cloud Backup are the same solution, but while Cloud Storage allows you to maintain and access your digitised data and documents, Cloud Backup keeps a copy of them on a separate server to ensure that should something happen to your data, you won’t lose any critical information.
With data centres across three continents, round-the-clock security and end-to-end encryption, you can rest assured that your data is secure with Solid Systems.
We offer per-device payment model, which means that you will never receive an unexpected invoice, or find your monthly fee increasing without your knowledge.
If you find that a file on a workstation or server has become corrupted, restoring it from backup is quick and easy with our management portal. You would also be welcome to contact our service desk, who are available 24/7.
If you find that a backed up file has become corrupted, you will have the option to restore it to a version saved up to 28 days before. Alternatively, you can restore the file from the snapshots that are taken each month.
While most of the companies that work with us store there data for 28 days, there is no reason why you wouldn’t be able to configure your storage to keep data for as long as you need.
We also perform monthly snapshots which preserve the data without contributing towards your chosen quota, and are only charged for when data from them needs to be restored.
There’s no limit to the amount of data that you can store, but your initial backup may take some time, since there will be a large amount of data to process. How long this takes will be dependent on the internet connection and availability.
After your data has been backed up, any changes that are made are stored in small batches, rather than the full file needing to be reuploaded. This means that you won’t be backing up large amounts of data at a time.
